Kildegården: The Green Heart

The landscape at Kildegården creates a lush setting for the many activities for the residents at Kildegården, while offering a key connection to the local area. The landscape is characterized by its visual management of local rainwater, as well as it’s lush green structure with focus on form and planting. The pathways create connections across the site to the many cultural attractions neighboring the area, such as the culture house, cafés, music venues, a sports hall and much more.

The landscape works as a functional threshold from Møllehusvej to the building. On the opposite side of the building, private gardens create a natural transition from private to the open park-like landscape. The open area is shaped by the rolling hills, a lush and varied planting, as well as various places to meet and gather, such as a playground and a fire pit. In the south end of the site, more practical functions such as waste management and bike parking are placed, while the landscape on the north side of the site acts as an important connection point for local life as a pocket park.
