Across different levels, this elongated building will accommodate a mix of student housing and businesses in Ørestad South. The terrain in and around the building is decisive for how the surrounding landscape and the atrium courtyard are designed. On all sides of the block are there designed exits from the living room via steps to the surrounding terrain. The varying depth of the edge zone is designed with semi-private terraces for sitting and bicycle parking. These are divided by plant beds with lush native shrubs and perennials that refer to the community’s plant species.
The south-facing and sun-oriented edge zone is attractive to both the city and the block’s residents. The area is planted with flowering shrubs, which creates a lush and varied transition to the transverse side street. The west-facing edge zone has an unobstructed view of Kalvebod Fælled and the wild nature. Here, the planting is designed based on the wild growth of the surroundings, so that the transition is experienced as part of its setting. On the corner facing the common area, outdoor seating with the most beautiful view of the common area invites you to linger. This makes the transition to the building appear open and easily accessible.
