Carlsberg Byen masterplan

Danielsen Architecture has developed a 100,000 square-meter local plan for Carlsberg Byen P/S for the construction permits for building plots 9, 10, and 11 in the future Carlsberg By. The project is developed in collaboration with three other design studios, which have been in charge of designing the adjacent sections and landscapes.

The vision was to detail and further develop the ideas and thoughts behind the masterplan for a collective and homogenous material which will function along with the rest of Carlsberg Byen. For this reason, it was important in the masterplan to illuminate transitions to other areas, including by adapting passageways, urban areas, and paths to a greater context with varying importance of use (public/private), urban expression, and moods. To ensure a vibrant neighborhood, it is crucial to create dense structure and development in the masterplan.

As such, we could create a diverse, vibrant, sustainable neighborhood with many cultural activities, which will be attractive for residents, visitors, and business in the long term as well.
