The architectural vision has been to design a development that places emphasis on diversity and that relates to the unique surroundings.
Human scale, tailored outdoor rooms, space and safety – combined with accessibility between the different bodies of the building – characterize this development.
The proposal consists of 5 new pavilions placed in the existing courtyards, with a height that varies between 1 and 2 floors. The interplay between the pavilions and the rhythm of the existing facade provides variation and good architectural interaction within the buildings courtyards.
Efforts have thus been made to ensure that the project enhances the identity of the various courtyards, while at the same time providing access to the open spaces, so that all users are invited to the new centrally placed extensions.
The ambition is to create one unified building consisting of existing and new bodies, which form a modern and innovative office building with the experience of the user placed at the centre. We aim to create a building that contributes to the character of the surrounding green landscape and that proposes a dialog with the nearly situated forest. At the same time, we want to create a space where the building’s users are welcomed to step outside and experience the courtyards. Consequently, the house will open up to all corners of the world, with facades that form quiet niches for outdoor living. A key element of the design is the importance of finding the individuality of each pavilion in relationship with the existing building. Therefore, the functions, interior design and facade contribute to the life of the house and ensure a variety of experiences and a high architectural expression.

The new pavilions will be constructed as individual point houses, linked to the existing building via existing connecting corridors. We are working with bringing daylight into the courtyards by locating the pavilion on the Northeast edge of each courtyard, so existing workplaces are kept free from shading.
The pavilions facade is inspired by the interplay between the light expression of the existing corridors and the weight of the heavy red brick facade. The pavilions have thus been given an elegant transparent expression on the ground floors, thus managing to continue the green courtyards inwards and create a sense of openness. It is a great quality that upon arrival, visitors and users are greeted by the green, character-filled courtyards and a light and airy space with a generous ceiling height.
The large glass sections open up towards the courtyards, where one can go for walks, take meetings and follow the busy life that takes place inside.
The pavilions are all constructed from glulam and CLT elements, which will have a visible impact on the interior and exterior facade architecture, interplaying beautifully with the light base and heavier first floor. The glulam columns in the facades are inclined to absorb the structural torsion of the building while coping with the weight of the inserted decks on the first floor and roof of the pavilions.
