As part of our initiative to promote Danish plants, Danielsen Urban Landscape has now entered a collaboration with Langerød plant nursery in northern Sealand. The nursery, which has specialized in evergreen plants for over 30 years, is one of the few Danish producers who consistently work with a range adapted to the Danish climate. This collaboration will not only strengthen our own projects but will also act as a platform to raise awareness of the importance of Danish plant production throughout the industry. For several years, we have worked purposefully to integrate Danish plants into our landscape projects, and with this partnership we are now intensifying the effort.
In a time when sustainability and biodiversity play a greater role in our construction and landscape projects, it is crucial that we as an industry continue to take responsibility for minimizing the construction industry’s climate footprint. A concrete and effective step we can take is to expand the focus from just native plants to also prioritizing plants grown in Danish nurseries.
Danish grown plants are not just an environmentally friendly choice. They are also practical and well adapted to the Danish climate, which increases the chances that they will thrive and require less maintenance. At the same time, the transport’s CO2 footprint is reduced, as the plants do not have to be imported from abroad.
