Danielsen Spaceplanning had the pleasure of working as a tenant advisor for the Danish Real Estate Association for their office space located at the iconic Codanhus building in Frederiksberg. The project involved the design concept, color and material selection, as well as the planning of a new kitchen and restroom area.
The client desired a warm color scheme and Nordic-inspired material choices, with oak and calm colors being the main focus. DSP chose to paint the walls in the diamond-shaped core of the premises in soft colors from St. Leo; sky blue, ochre yellow, pink, and warm gray. The colors define each room and are repeated in the hallways, creating a harmonious flow throughout the space.
To absorb sound and add visual interest, oak plank carpets were laid in the hallways, meeting rooms, and offices. The beautiful graphic Bolon carpet was chosen for the kitchen area. Curtains from Kvadrat and Jab were selected to complement the wall colors and add texture to the rooms.
The walls of the kitchen and restrooms are adorned with diamond-shaped Popham tiles from Morocco. To illustrate the location of the premises, we designed glass partitions with maps of Copenhagen and Frederiksberg. A guide was created for visitors to understand the maps’ significance.
The client had an emphasis on reusing existing furniture, and has procured additional furnishing themselves.
